MEET THE RALEIGH AIA STAFF.
Russ and Mary Throckmorton -- Russ is from southwest part of Virginia and competed as a swimmer and football player at the University of Kentucky while graduating with a degree in Business Management. Mary grew up just outside of Denver Colorado and played soccer at UNC while graduating with a degree in Recreation Administration. We have three young sons, Silas, Eli, and Judah. We enjoy being outdoors, spending time at the beach, working out and Ice Cream.
Aaron Fears --- Full Time Staff -- Most of life has been spent in the tiny, blue collar town of North Attleboro, Massachusetts. Upon graduating high school, I went on to play football at The University of Massachusetts at Amherst where I graduated with a degree in Sociology. God led me to join AIA staff in the winter of 2011 and I was transferred to the AIA Raleigh team in the Spring of 2014. I love getting to teach athletes that finding their identity in Christ, not in their sport, will lead to ultimate freedom and joy. Some of my favorite things include, movies (superheroes specifically), reading, music, guitar, krav maga (self-defense) and working out!

Chris attended Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, FL graduating with a Masters of Divinity, while Wendy began her coaching and teaching career. They went on to serve in the church (Presbyterian Church in America) for 15 years as pastor and wife in Houston, TX, Newark, DE, and the Eastern Shore of Maryland. They have three wonderful children-- Christian (20), Brooke (18), and Reagan (16).
Timmy McCall -- Part Time Staff -- I am from Hope Mills, North Carolina where I was raised in a household with my mother and sister. I left North Carolina to wrestle at the University of Wisconsin in 2010 and graduated in 2015 with a degree in Agricultural Economics. It was in college where I grew in my faith through involvement in Athletes In Action. I am now part-time staff with Athletes in Action aside of coaching and training with NC State’s wrestling team. My hobbies include fishing, going to the movies, and reading.
Jackie Stengel -- Volunteer Staff -- Jackie currently still plays for the NC State Women's Soccer team. She is originally from Melbourne Florida where she graduated from Viera High School. Interesting fact about Jackie's family, her sister currently plays soccer at Wake Forest and her dad played soccer at Air Force.
